To increase your global awareness and educate you on international affairs and local current issues, the Roundtable Community will bring you the International Relations Current Affairs Seminar organized by the Hong Kong International Relations Research Association(HKIRRA). The event will hold monthly in Hong Kong Readers Bookstore. HKIRRA will invite different consulate-generals as the speakers, talking about current events or interesting, debatable topics about their countries. It is an opportunity to hear the truth directly from the countries representatives.
On August 27, we, HKIRRA, introduce you to our first seminar – a night about the Okinawa debate with the Japanese acting Consulate-General, Mr Daisuke Matsunaga. The Okinawa debate began 50 years ago with an unfair aftermath treaty – Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security.Back before summer began, it was also time for the Japanese government to decide the removal of the U.S. military bases. The seminar will help you to have a better understanding on the Okinawa debate and the Japanese government’s decision.
